Perméable
Marseille, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
Founded in 2005 in Marseille, the Perméable association designs accessible digital interfaces and supports public and private organisations in achieving RGAA compliance.
Based in Marseille since 2005 as an association, Perméable works as a digital design and consultancy agency. The organisation works on web interfaces and visual identities for over two hundred organisations.
The agency involves all project disciplines, from designers through developers to client contributors. Perméable delivers graphic mockups and component libraries ready for developers, then prepares the multi-year plan and accessibility statement.
Perméable notes that the RGAA is not weighted: keyboard navigation carries more importance than an alt attribute on a decorative image. Graphic design then includes verification at each delivery, whilst the final pre-launch audit is entrusted to an independent partner.
Perméable designed the portals for the Lyon Metropolis and Toulon Provence Mediterranean Metropolis. These projects achieved 99% and 99.6% accessibility rates respectively.
Accessibility services offered
Audit, Training, Consulting and support, Accessible development, Inclusive design
Audit
Assessment uses the RGAA to measure compliance rate, list gaps and formulate each corrective recommendation. Once the site goes live, the review is delegated to a partner, with Perméable then revising mockups if any criteria remain non-compliant.
Training
Perméable's entire team is trained in the RGAA. The agency offers client teams training in content contribution to pass on best practices for producing compliant content.
Consulting and support
Initial planning brings stakeholders together around roles, issues and RGAA-based objectives. Perméable can also develop a costed and prioritised roadmap, then draft the multi-year plan and accessibility statement.
Accessible development
On the development side, the RGAA guides HTML component integration and back-office work. Perméable provides integrators with a design system and accessible mockups to base their work on.
Inclusive design
Every graphic delivery undergoes accessibility review to ensure compliant mockups and design systems. The Lyon Metropolis and Metropolis TPM projects illustrate this process with 99% and 99.6% accessibility rates respectively.
Quote from the provider website
“Nous aidons les acteurs publics, les institutions et les entreprises à rendre leur site 100% accessible pour les personnes porteuses d'un handicap, selon le référentiel RGAA.”
