Created in Paris in 2012, Ctrl-a brings together several digital companies, including ecedi, Temesis and the adapted company numerik-ea. The group operates independently and produces its work in France, without venture funding.
The group designs open source websites, interfaces and editorial content, and ensures maintenance and hosting. One of the group's companies focuses on accessibility, ecodesign and GDPR. Services include compliance audits, training programmes through the Ctrl-academy and change management initiatives.
The teams rely on the RGAA, the national framework to whose creation the group claims to have contributed, as well as on RGESN for ecodesign, and state that they sit on the bodies that develop them. The approach aims for client independence in managing their tools and data.
Inclusion also guides internal organisation. A quarter of staff concerns people at a distance from employment, and the numerik-ea entity has 90 per cent of employees who are people with disabilities trained in web professions.
