Founded in 1900 in Bordeaux, the Adapei de la Gironde association offers document transcription into easy-to-read French (FALC) and training for teams in this method.

Founded in 1900, Adapei de la Gironde is a parents' association based in Bordeaux. It brings together 1,300 professionals, 590 members and supports 2,300 people. Its teams work in the Bordeaux metropolitan area, South Gironde and the Libourne and Médoc regions.

Since 2015, the organisation has transcribed publications using the easy-to-read French method. Clients receive documents written in short sentences in the present tense, completed with sans-serif fonts and explicit illustrations.

The work follows the rules of this standard. Each material is co-designed with people concerned or validated by them, avoiding metaphors and foreign words. The 2023 leaflet 'How to communicate in easy-to-read French?' is downloadable from the website.

Qualiopi-certified, the association also offers dedicated training sessions. Its specialist service passes these techniques to organisations wanting to write accessible content directly.
